I'm into part 3 of the novel now. This is where stuff actually starts to happen.
That said, there is one event that happens early-ish in Part 3 that I would be happy to leave out of the show completely, and that's that whole ugly, weird, sick mess that is the Beardsleys.
Now, we do need the Beardsley twins, Josiah and Keziah, on the show (or else there's a whole other plot line that will have to be dropped), but do we need that storyline about what Jamie and Claire find at the Beardsley farm? No, we really do not. I am certain that there are other ways to integrate the twins into the show, and that other stuff, as far as I can remember, really isn't plot critical at all. Some stuff from the book will have to be dropped -- this entire episode gets all the votes from me.
